CEFAXONE 1 GM I . M 1 VIAL

* CEFAXONE (Ceftriaxone) 1 g 1 Vial + 1 Ampoule 3.5 ml of Lidocaine HCl. Powder for Solution for I.M. Injection.
Broad Spectrum Antibiotic – Third-Generation Cephalosporin.
* Cefaxone 1 gm I.M.:
– 1 Vial: Ceftriaxone sodium eq. to 1 gm Ceftriaxone activity.
– 1 Ampoule (Solvent): Lidocaine HCl 1% 3.5 ml.
– For Intramuscular (IM) injection.
* Reconstitution and Administration:
The contents of a CEFAXONE vial is dissolved in the provided diluent as follows: 1 g in the whole content of 1% lidocaine ampoule.
The reconstituted solution should be given by deep intramuscular injection in a large muscle. If more than one gram is to be injected, the dose should be distributed between more than one site. The injected drug solutions must be freshly reconstituted.
Reconstituted solutions may be stored in a refrigerator at 5 degrees C for 12 – 24 hours.
* Store at temperature not exceeding 30 degrees C (i.e. 15 – 30 degrees C), away from light.
