Active ingredient:
Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg
Uses:
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus particularly in overweight patients
Side effects:
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and loss of appetite
Dosage:
The usual starting dose is 500-850 mg 2-3 times daily during or after meals, adjusted after 10-15 days on the basis of blood glucose measurements
